Syphon is a music player that runs on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Syphon is operated by Mesh Studios, based in the European Union, which acts as the data controller for the information described here. For any question or request about your data, contact steph@meshstudios.eu.
So your music is available across your devices, the following is saved to your account on Supabase:
Downloaded audio is stored only on your device and is not uploaded to us.
We process your email and account contents to provide the service you asked for (performance of our agreement with you), and we operate and secure the service on the basis of our legitimate interest in running Syphon. We do not process your data for advertising.
Account data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase. Where this involves a transfer outside the European Economic Area, it is carried out under appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Syphon lets you export your data and delete your account from within the app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, contact steph@meshstudios.eu.
When you search for or play a track, the app connects directly from your device to third-party sources (such as YouTube and SoundCloud) to find and stream the audio. Those requests are subject to the privacy policies of those services. We do not receive a copy of your listening or search activity.
Your account data is kept until you delete it. You can clear your library and favorites from within the app's settings, and you can delete your account, which removes your stored data from our backend. Downloaded audio is removed when you delete it on your device or uninstall the app.
Syphon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
